MunkiWho · Comparisons

Comparisons that tell you when to buy the other one.

Most vendor comparison pages are a list of ticks in one column. These are not that. Every page below opens with the case for the other product, because the fastest way to waste a fortnight is to trial the wrong category of tool.

MunkiWho is deliberately narrow: it is a record of who exists, what they belong to, what they can reach and what they have been given — filled in by you, and read by anyone who needs the answer. It does not enforce access, run a ticket queue, discover hardware or sync from Active Directory. If you need any of those, one of the products on this page is a better buy than ours.

The six rows that decide it

Feature grids run to sixty rows and change nobody's mind. In practice a shortlist collapses on these, so they are here on one screen. Each product's full page has the detail and the caveats.

Reviewed September 2026 against each vendor's public product documentation. Every one of these products is configurable and has a wider surface than one row can carry; the full pages say where each one is the better buy, in its own section, under the heading "where they win".

The full comparisons

How these pages are written

Each comparison is checked against the other vendor's own documentation, dated, and marked with the month it was reviewed. Where a product beats us we say so in its own section, with the heading "where they win" — not buried in a footnote.

We do not publish competitors' prices. They change more often than we would update the page, and a stale price presented as current is the least defensible thing a comparison can contain. Check theirs directly; ours are all on the pricing page.

If something here has gone out of date — including if you work for one of these vendors — tell us and we will correct it.
